In April 2009 Solarwall Ltd fitted Carmelite Monastery with three Genersys solar hot water heating panels and replaced their electric showers to help the monastery save money and lower their carbon footprint.

Sister Philomena says "We have always been aware of our carbon footprint and we are careful to recycle. We were left a bit of money and thought we would use it to put our money where our mouth is".

The solar panels were fitted to help towards heating the monasteries domestic hot water, sister Philomena went on to say "We've had the panels for over a year mow and we're delighted with them. Although its difficult to say exactly how much they have saved us, we have noticed a big reduction in our electricity consumption"
