Properties built prior to 1920 are usually constructed with solid walls. Solid walls allow twice as much heat to escape from the building than cavity walls, but insulation will significantly reduce the amount of heat that the walls let escape. Internal wall insulation is an effective form of solid wall insulation and an alternative to external wall insulation that will allow your home to retain its heat and won’t require alteration to the outside appearance of your building.
Solarwall have insulated properties since 1977. Our insulation is independently guaranteed by SWIGA - the Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency.
- Improved levels of comfort. Insulating your solid wall building will dramatically improve the thermal efficiency of the walls to provide a much more comfortable and enjoyable living environment.
- Fuel bill savings. Insulated buildings require much less energy to reach and maintain a comfortable temperature.
- Reduces condensation and damp.
- Cost effective as there is no need for scaffolding.
How it works
Internal wall insulation is achieved by fixing insulation the inside walls of a property. There are a variety of insulation methods available to achieve the desired thermal performance. Once installed, the insulation is then finished with plaster skim and can be decorated as applicable.
With all insulation methods, considerations must be made for preparation and reinstatement of features applicable to your property. For example, with internal wall insulation this would include electrical sockets.
