Solid Wall Insulation
Solid walls lose even more heat than cavity walls; the only way to reduce this heat loss is to insulate them on the inside or outside.
EXTERNAL INSULATION
This is installed by adding a decorative weather-proof insulating treatment to the outside of your wall. It is carried out by fixing insulating board to the external of your property and adding a decorative finish. This type of wall insulation is ideal if you have severe heating problems or the exterior of the building requires some form of other repair work .If you are going to be renovating or repairing the exterior walls of your property then it would be an ideal time to consider installing external solid wall insulation.
The thickness of this finish will be between 50-100mm dependant upon the building type.
Price is dependant upon the type of insulation material and finish used but could save you around £400 a year on your fuel bills every year.
INTERNAL INSULATION
Types of internal wall insulation include ready made insulation/plaster board laminates or a 10mm Sempatap Insulation sheet.
Internal wall insulation can be cheaper than external wall insulation and you could save around £380 per year on your energy bill
Internal Board Insulation
Boards are fitted directly to the inside of the wall. The thicker the board the better the insulation. You then can re-decorate over the finish.
