It is a non-commercial scheme available to suppliers (those who provide goods and services) and to organisations (buyers) looking for suitably competent suppliers.

 

MCS-NICEIC-rgb1.jpgThe Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is an internationally recognised quality assurance scheme, supported by the Department of Energy and Climate Change. MCS certifies microgeneration technologies used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources. MCS is also an eligibility requirement for the Government's financial incentives, which include the Feed-in Tariff and the Renewable Heat Incentive.

NICEIC is the UK’s leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry. It has been assessing the electrical competence of electricians for over fifty years and currently maintains a roll of over 26,000 registered contractors. Choosing an NICEIC registered electrician is a householder’s best way to ensure a safe job. Electricians registered with NICEIC are assessed on a regular basis to ensure high standards and their work is checked against the IEE Wiring Regulations BS 7671 as well as other standards.

 STA The solar industry and the Solar Trade Association (STA) have a long and distinguished history in the UK. Formed in 1978, the Association was the first representative vehicle for the UK renewable heating industry. The STA represents both solar heating and solar electricity and supports its member companies according to their needs. With 32 years of operation, the STA is one of the first renewable energy associations in the country.

 

Green-deal-logo-technologies.jpgThe Green Deal Oversight and Registration Body (GD ORB), on behalf of the Secretary of State, manages the authorisation scheme for participants in the Green Deal and is responsible for a number of functions aimed at providing effective administration and oversight of the scheme.

The GD ORB is responsible for maintaining a register of all authorised Green Deal Providers, Certification Bodies, Advisors and Installers; maintaining the Green Deal Code of Practice and controlling the use of the Quality Mark; ongoing monitoring of Green Deal Participants against the Code of Practice; producing an annual Green Deal report; and gathering evidence of non compliance and referring participants to the Ombudsman or the Secretary of State where appropriate and imposing sanctions when directed.
